COPD and Remote Patient Monitoring

How RPM helps with COPD

COPD is a lung disease in which airflow is restricted that can be classified as chronic bronchitis or emphysema. Exacerbations are “flare-ups” or a marked worsening of symptoms associated with it, and increased frequency of these events indicates progression of the disease.

The need for improved management and treatment is clear. Using Remote Patient Monitoring care providers can use SPO2 monitors to track oxygenation of patients and intervene before the patient condition worsens

    • Out of range SPO2 readings trigger alerts to care providers
    • Regular check-ins by care managers
    • Tracking readings over time helps physicians identify patterns to treat other patients
